Your Convention Card

All about all kinds of changes

YOUR CONVENTION CARD. . .AND YOU

You and your partner must have a convention card filled out when you play bridge so both you and your opponents are able to view and understand your agreements.  Not only did the ACBL make changes to alerts and announcements to the card (for the first time in 20 years!) but they've come out with a completely new card format.  Below is an interactive convention card with the ACBL's "Conventional Wisdom" for each of the newly-formatted sections of the new card; and also a look at the changes that were made in 2021 to the alerts and announcements.  If you need help filling out your card, just ask someone at the club!  Most of the major changes that will affect RDBC players are listed below.

Some red boxes (alertable!) have changed to black boxes (no need to alert) - and some black boxes have changed to red.  Also a few changes in how to announce some bids.  For now, no major penalties will be doled out for missing some of the new changes, but you should be aware of these changes and update your card accordingly.
